At the Hirslanden Clinic St. Anna in Lucerne, I can provide you with obstetric and surgical care. The prerequisite is general, semi-private or private insurance valid in Switzerland.
Thanks to a well-coordinated team, all gynaecological operations are performed to the highest standards and using the latest techniques.
Thanks to interdisciplinary quality management, surgical procedures are performed with maximum safety for patients.
With the help of laparoscopy (abdominal endoscopy, „keyhole surgery“), which has established itself as a minimally invasive method, it is possible to treat almost all gynaecological diseases in the abdominal cavity using state-of-the-art surgical techniques. The range of possible operations includes procedures on the uterus or ovaries, as well as technically more difficult and extensive operations such as endometriosis treatment or tumour surgery with lymph node removal. If laparoscopic techniques are not possible, the operation is performed as an ‘open abdomen’ procedure (laparotomy).
Interdisciplinary cooperation enables us to offer sound, high-quality tumour surgery. It goes without saying that major operations involving the intestine or bladder are performed in collaboration with surgeons and urologists.
Thanks to my experience and interdisciplinary collaboration, pelvic floor disorders can be treated on a highly individualised basis, both conservatively and surgically. This area includes all forms of urinary incontinence and prolapse problems.
In addition to traditional pelvic floor surgery using vaginal, laparoscopic (keyhole) or abdominal techniques, the insertion of meshes for stabilisation (even without removal of the uterus) continues to be a key focus. These meshes have been used successfully for many years to treat urinary incontinence. Thanks to optimal networking with all disciplines relevant to the pelvic floor (urologists, surgeons, neurologists, gastroenterologists and physiotherapists), we are able to offer pelvic floor treatment at our centre.
The qualified anaesthesia team ensures competent care and follow-up treatment in the operating theatre and in the modern intensive care unit.
An important focus is the diagnosis and treatment of benign and malignant breast diseases. Here, we have succeeded in establishing a breast centre through the collaboration of specialists from various disciplines (oncology, radiation oncology, pathology, radiology, senology, gynaecology, surgery, plastic surgery). This enables us to implement treatment concepts that are in line with the latest scientific findings. These treatment guidelines are determined in collaboration with the aforementioned specialists in the so-called „tumour board“ for preoperative, intraoperative or postoperative (aftercare) procedures.
For years, the focus here has been on breast-conserving surgery and the use of sentinel lymph node technology. This also includes breast reconstruction after a necessary mastectomy. Breast augmentation/breast reconstruction and breast reduction are also offered, of course.
