What is NAD+
The biomolecule NAD+. NAD+ stands for nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide. The molecule has two forms – an active and an inactive one. In its active form, it is known as NAD+, and in its inactive form as NADH. It is involved in the conversion of food into energy, the maintenance of DNA integrity and proper
cell function and repair.
Humans only have the ideal level of NAD+ at birth, which we need as a particularly important coenzyme for metabolic activities and thus for the body’s energy production.
